He was born circa 1588 at Preston Parva, Northamptonshire, England.1 He was the son of John Bliss.1 Thomas Bliss was a blacksmith at England.1 He married Dorothy Wheatley on 22 November 1614 at Daventry, Northamptonshire, England, by Thomas Mariott, minister.1 Thomas Bliss married Abigail Southam in February 1632/33 at Daventry, Northamptonshire, England.1 Thomas Bliss immigrated circa 1638 to Massachusetts, USA.1 He was listed as one of the first purchasers of land in Rehoboth, with an allottment valued at 153 pounds, about 1643.2 At a Rehoboth town meeting, on the last day of June, 1644, lots were drawn for a division of the woodland between the plain and the town. Thomas Bliss received share number 29 of 58.3 He appears on the 1st covenant of Rehoboth which bears the date "3d of 5th month (July), 1644.3 He died in October 1647 at Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts, USA.4
