Edward Clapp and Susannah (?), on 19 June 1684.¹ Samuel Strong married Ruth Sheldon on 28 October 1698.¹ On 10 August 1711, he and his son Samuel Jr., took a team of horses out of Northampton to a meadow to get a load of grain. They soon were ambushed by three Indians. When the townspeople rushed there they found young Samuel dead and the father gone. Samuel Sr. had been wounded and taken prisoner. He was taken to Canada but later returned home. He arrived home on a Sabbath and entered the meeting house to the surprise and joy of the congregation.¹ Samuel Strong died on 29 October 1732 at age 80.¹

     Joseph Strong was born on 5 August 1652 at Northamption, Hampshire, Massachusetts, USA.¹ He was the son of Elder John Strong and Abigail Ford.¹ Joseph Strong died young.¹
