George Crain1
M, b. between 1809 and 1810, d. before July 1860
George Crain was Farmer.1 He was born between 1809 and 1810 at Maryland, USA.1,2 He married Angeline Dougherty, daughter of (?) Dougherty and Sarah (?), on 27 December 1832 at Lawrence, Indiana, USA; George's surname spelled "Crane" on marriage record.1 George Crain appeared on the census of 1 June 1840 at Lawrence, Indiana, USA; In the 1840 US census, the head of the household immediately above is Milton Daugherty. He is the only adult male and is 30-40 y/o. There is a single adule female, 30-40 y/o, who is presumably his wife. There are 3 children, a boy 10-15, a girl under 5 and another 5-10. The head of the household that follows is Sarah Davis. In this household there is a male and two females 20-30, and a female 60-70. It's possible that this is George Crain's mother, brother, and two sisters.3 He and Angeline Dougherty appeared on the census of 1 June 1850 at District 22, Christian, Illinois, USA.1 George Crain died before July 1860; George is not listed with the family in the 1860 US census and Angeline is listed as a widow living with son William in the 1870 US census.4,5
